The club has a well equipped tackle shed including over 850 metres of rope and more ladders than most modern cavers would care to utilise. All equipment use is monitored and recorded and all ropes have a fully documented history and receive regular inspection and testing.

The club offers training to new members from novices or to more experienced cavers who want to learn about Single Rope Techniques (SRT) or other aspects of caving. Some background training material is produced including a Members Handbook. In addition to training events held at suitably equiped climbing walls, the club also has its own training rig. Although small in scale, all aspects of SRT can be demonstrated and the famous 13 ft Attic pitch has been described as one of the most awkward pitches to rig in the dales!
