The club has a well equipped tackle shed including
over 850 metres of rope and more ladders than most modern cavers
would care to utilise. All equipment use is monitored and recorded
and all ropes have a fully documented history and receive regular
inspection and testing.

The club offers training
to new members from novices or to more experienced cavers who want
to learn about Single Rope Techniques (SRT) or other aspects of caving.
Some background training material is produced including a Members
Handbook and the club also has copies of the three 'Cave Safe' training
videos. In addition to training events held at the Leeds Climbing
Wall the club also has its own training rig. Although small in scale,
all aspects of SRT can be demonstrated and the famous 13 ft Attic
pitch has been described as one of the most awkward pitches to rig
in the dales! |
Club documents and guides available in Acrobat format (see below)
include:
1. Safety,
Clothing and Conservation - A guide for new members.
2. Members Handbook
- A brief description of caving techniques, including knots, ladders,
SRT and information compiled from various learned journals.
